North Barnes Development Visualisation
The North Barnes / Site 11EC project studies a proposed East Sussex settlement in its real landscape context using mapping, geospatial data and carefully labelled illustrative scenarios.
Research and presentation
Two distinct research surfaces.
The development-visualisation repository contains the scenario and geospatial workflow. The public Observatory repository separately describes publication-safe evidence, chronology and visualisations.
Sources include planning and promoter documents, terrain context and landscape viewpoints. Future development modelling must never be mistaken for an adopted plan, surveyed geometry or official photomontage.
Important caveat
An illustration is not a boundary survey.
The research README explicitly classifies an existing scaled Site 11EC reference envelope as illustrative, not authoritative planning red-line geometry. The 3,000-dwelling scenario is a modelling baseline, not a prediction or an approved construction programme.
Work includes landscape viewpoints, LiDAR-informed terrain and possible road/access configurations. The latest media export, release status and authoritative source geometry require separate verification.
- Distinguish evidenced geometry from reconstruction and cinema.
- Record source CRS, coordinate control, licensing and reviewer sign-off.
- Keep pre/post comparisons reproducible and genuinely proportional.

Current state and validation
Project identity and associated repositories were checked on 24 October 2026. A repository or document's existence does not establish that its public website, latest build, pipelines or scientific conclusions have been validated. Claims and illustrative material remain subject to project-specific review.
