SCC Air Quality repeatedly harvests and re-checks monitoring evidence rather than publishing a static snapshot. Source/integrity checks, validation gates, public-surface reconciliation, review packs and release/archive controls form the operating cycle. The public observatory is bounded for responsible publication, while protected/unredacted review material can be retained separately where unrestricted publication is inappropriate.

What it is trying to create.
Create a public evidence surface that makes official monitoring data easier to inspect without turning descriptive screening into unsupported source attribution or health conclusions.
Associated data infrastructure
UK Environmental Intelligence Catalogue
The UK Environmental Intelligence Catalogue is a related but separately governed source-discovery, metadata and validation toolkit. It documents environmental data provenance, licensing, candidate status and resource checks. Inclusion in the catalogue does not make a data source scientifically validated or suitable for Air Quality publication without its own review.

Independent scientific review
Current evidence, reproducibility and accountable limitations
Integrity
Acquisition checks, controlled builds and restricted-release safeguards prevent unqualified environmental, medical, attribution and regulatory claims. Technical success is not independent scientific accreditation.
Verification
Use the live evidence and readiness pages for dated coverage and freshness assessments. A successful build does not automatically establish sufficient coverage for a current national assessment.
Validity
Descriptive monitoring and evidence screening are distinct from source attribution, health effects or legal determinations. Historical and satellite sources have separately reported coverage and quality limits.

Public boundary
Transparency without exposing operational secrets.
Public pages describe purpose, evidence principles and intended outputs. Credentials, private repository links, source-specific collection tactics, restricted implementation details, anti-abuse controls and other security-sensitive material are deliberately excluded.
